"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。In midst of a midlife crisis, a film director recounts with wit and humor his turbulent life using 16mm films shot over one century by other filmmakers, anonymous or amateurs, that he collected for 30 years.。DJ王熙(王喜)与大学生Anna(刘晓彤)为恋人，但约法三章而容忍她的裙下之臣，事实上王心感不快，一晚，熙在酒吧遇到驻场歌手Maggie(邵美琪)碰巧她与男友电话中吵架，受她的忧郁外型吸引而开始注意她，Lo(林晓峰)及翁等为酒吧常客，为了娱乐而执行打劫酒吧计划，最终变大派对收场。 而熙亦因结识到Maggie，更漫谈起来。二人渐渐建立出感情。Maggie的男友早前因工作而冷落她﹐以致二人关系恶劣，但回来欲追回Maggie时，发觉她与熙的来往时满不是味儿，结果Maggie终提出分手。 另一方面，熙亦将感情生活透露给Anna。此时Anna才发现未能接受，黯然骗说有新男友而离去。酒吧内，Maggie约会熙与前男友，结果……。
